How to set up Goals

In this section, you will find insights on how to set up goals in automations in ActiveCampaign.

A goal action is a specific action triggered when a goal is reached, such as sending an email, adding a contact to a list, or updating a custom field. By using goal actions, you can create complex automations that respond to specific contact behaviors, like opening an email or clicking a link. This enables highly targeted and personalized marketing campaigns tailored to each contact's actions.

To set up goal actions, use the "Goal" block option in the automation editor.

  • Actions you can set as a Goal:

    • Sending an email

    • Adding a contact to a list

    • Updating a custom field

    • Tagging a contact

    • Pausing or ending the automation

  • Actions to trigger based on specific conditions, such as:

    • Contact completing or not completing a goal

    • Contact opening an email or clicking a link

Add logic with "IF/ELSE" statements to create complex paths based on contact interactions or characteristics. Check out our tutorial to get all the details about Goals. 👇
