# Lead scoring

{% hint style="info" %}
In this section, you will find insights on how to use Lead Scoring in ActiveCampaign.
{% endhint %}

This feature allows you to assign points to your contacts depending on their behavior or information.

When creating Lead Scoring rules, consider customer demographics, interests, and behaviors to build an effective system that identifies and nurtures the most qualified leads, forming the foundation of your lead generation efforts.

Here are some examples to inspire your first rules, and think about what other types of actions could you follow.

| Action                           | Score | Expiration |
| -------------------------------- | ----- | ---------- |
| Open an email                    | 1+    | 6 month    |
| Click an email                   | 5+    | 6 month    |
| Answer an email                  | 10+   | 6 month    |
| Visited a sales page             | 20+   | 6 month    |
| Visited a checkout/purchase page | 20+   | 6 month    |
| Become a Customer                | 100+  | Never      |

By taking the time to create your Lead Scoring rules and automate the process, you can ensure that you're reaching the most qualified leads and closing more deals in less time.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.wildmail.io/activecampaign-academy/deep-dive/level-up-your-automations/lead-scoring.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
